Parish Missions

What is a parish mission?

A parish mission is a beautiful opportunity for a community to come together and grow in faith. Throughout the mission, parishioners are encouraged to deepen their relationship with Christ, strengthen connections within the community, and support one another on their spiritual journey. It is a time of prayer, reflection, learning, and renewal as we seek to better understand God’s presence in our lives and grow closer to Him.

4 Days

Over four days, parishioners are invited to take part in meaningful discussions, engaging workshops, Eucharistic Adoration, school programs, and uplifting praise assemblies. Every mission is intentionally designed with the unique needs of the parish community in mind, creating opportunities for people of all ages to grow in faith, build lasting connections, and encounter Christ in a deeper way. Whether someone is firmly rooted in their faith or simply seeking to grow closer to God, a parish mission offers a welcoming space for renewal, reflection, and community.

3 Evening reflections

Evening reflections offer a sacred space for individuals to pause, reflect, and deepen their relationship with the Lord. Through prayerful listening, thoughtful discussion, and personal contemplation, participants are invited to examine their spiritual journey, recognize God’s presence in their lives, and draw closer to Him. These moments of reflection foster inner peace, renewal, and a greater understanding of God’s love, guiding individuals toward a more profound and meaningful faith.

3 Group Workshops

Group workshops provide participants with an opportunity to dive deeper into their faith through meaningful discussion, reflection, and shared experiences. They foster connections among peers, strengthen the sense of community, and encourage spiritual growth as participants journey together in faith and draw closer to Christ.

Why is the mission four days?

To help prepare and engage the parish community, JohnPaul will provide music ministry at every Mass throughout the mission weekend and offer a brief presentation at the conclusion of each liturgy. This opportunity allows parishioners to become familiar with the mission, hear its purpose, and receive a personal invitation to participate in the days ahead.

What is included in a parish mission?

Each parish mission includes, at minimum, three evenings of reflection featuring music ministry and keynote presentations designed to inspire, encourage, and deepen faith.

Optional offerings may include Eucharistic Adoration each evening, small-group workshops, school assemblies, praise and worship gatherings, and other opportunities for prayer, learning, and community engagement. Each mission is customized to meet the unique needs and goals of the parish community.

What does a parish mission look like?

Each parish mission is tailored to the unique needs of the community. JohnPaul will work closely with parish leadership to design a mission schedule that best serves the parish, ensuring that the themes, presentations, and optional offerings align with the goals and spiritual needs of its members.

Is the mission targeted to a specific age group?

No. All ages are welcome to participate in the parish mission. While the evening reflections and keynote presentations are designed for the entire parish community, some parishes may choose to offer specialized workshops tailored to specific groups. Examples include men’s workshops, women’s workshops, youth workshops, family workshops, and other sessions designed to address the unique experiences and needs of those participants.

Testimonials

John Paul,

your mission:

These are sentiments that some of our parishioners shared after participating in two nights of

I absolutely love John Paul. I love his ability to story tell and make the message cohesive with his story and the themes of the night! I was actually just thinking last night that I hope he comes to visit us again because I think he is so down to earth and so easy to talk to as well.

John Paul is a gifted musician as he led us in song and prayer. He uses stories and his life experiences to encourage and challenge us to stretch ourselves through prayer and service.

I had no idea my heart, my mind, my soul needed some tuning up. John Paul's fore words experiences, amazing music and beautiful worship before the presence of Our Lord in the Blessed Sacrament showed his gentleness and power of God in all our lives. So glad I did not obey my laziness and came to his beautiful presentation!

- Marinella

A humble and sincere man, John Paul invites us to accept the amazing, infinite and overwhelming love which God has for us this very moment in our lives, no matter where we are on our journey of faith. Through song, praise, prayer and silence, John Paul calls and encourages us to grow ever closer to God.

John Paul's message to the kids ... "ask your parents to forgive you for complaining and thank them for taking care of you"... through his telling of the story of Moses and the Israelites leaving Egypt and wandering in the desert was a powerful reminder to the "big kids" to (often) ask our Heavenly Father for forgiveness for complaining and to thank Him for always taking care of us.

- Korri

Thank you for being here and sharing the light of Christ with us! I know that you don't do what you do for kudos or for a pat on the back for what YOU have done. I know that it is all for Him! Sometimes, though, it is helpful to hear from others that your message of Christ has been well received. Again, not for kudos, but as reassurance that your openness to the Holy Spirit I am a better person for having spent time with you, John Paul. If ever I can do anything to help or support your ministry, please let me know.

Peace and blessings to you, my friend!
